Who we are
Myxstem is operated by Melody Console LLC (“Myxstem”, “we”), part of Autoriale. Questions about this policy: info@myxstem.com.
The short version
You don’t need an account to use our apps. We never sell your information, we don’t show ads, and we don’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites. If you choose to join our mailing list, we keep your email address for that. Everything else we collect is anonymous: which songs are played and how well the apps run, so we can make them better. You can turn that off at any time.
1. Information you choose to give us
- Mailing list (optional). If you sign up in an app or on our site, your email address goes to our email provider, Mailchimp (Intuit Inc.). We use it to send occasional news about releases from the artist and Myxstem. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and you can also write to us to be removed.
- Messages to us. If you email us, we keep the message so we can answer it.
2. Anonymous usage and diagnostics in our apps
Our apps send anonymous usage information to our own analytics service (described in section 4):
- app launches;
- songs opened and closed, and how long they were played;
- use of features such as solo, mute, venue and immersive mode;
- the app version, the device model and operating system version, and the approximate country (two letters);
- memory and performance figures, and, if the app closes unexpectedly, which song was playing at the time.
Each install gets a random identifier that isn’t connected to you, your Apple account or your device’s advertising identifier. We don’t collect your name, email, precise location, contacts, photos or anything from other apps. On Apple Vision Pro we never receive where you look or what your cameras see.
The apps may also pass on Apple’s anonymous daily performance and crash reports (MetricKit).
You can turn this off at any time: in the app, open About → Settings → “Share anonymous usage”. Turning it off stops sending, deletes any unsent data and discards the random identifier. Separately, the apps can play a quiet menu ambience (“Menu sound”); that collects nothing.
3. Our website
myxstem.com uses our own cookieless analytics:
- what we record: pages viewed, the site that referred you, campaign tags in the link, clicks to the App Store, the browser and operating system type, screen width, and the approximate country;
- we set no cookies and store nothing in your browser for analytics;
- to count visitors, our server makes a one-way code from your connection and browser details, and that code changes every day, so you can’t be followed from one day to the next. Your IP address is never stored;
- if your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, no analytics are collected at all.
Analytics are off in this browser.
4. Where the information is kept, and for how long
- Usage and website analytics: stored with Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc.) in our own database, located in the European Union. We keep usage events for up to 13 months and app diagnostics for up to 90 days; they are deleted automatically after that.
- Mailing-list addresses: stored with Mailchimp until you unsubscribe.
- Our providers: Cloudflare and Mailchimp process data on our behalf under their own data-protection terms. We don’t share data with anyone else, except where the law requires it.
5. Apple
Apple may give us aggregated App Store statistics (for example downloads and crashes) from people who agreed to share them with developers. Apple’s own privacy policy covers what Apple collects.
6. Children
Our apps are suitable for all ages and collect no personal information beyond the optional mailing list. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (under 16 in the EU). If you think a child has given us an email address, contact us and we’ll delete it.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR in the EU or the CCPA in California), you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal information, or object to how we use it. The only personal information we hold is mailing-list addresses and messages you send us. The anonymous usage data isn’t linked to you, so we usually can’t tell which of it is yours; you can still switch it off as described above. To make a request, email info@myxstem.com. You can also complain to your local data-protection authority.
8. Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the effective date above. If a change matters, we’ll also mention it in the apps’ update notes.
